FATMAP's magic was three things at once: beautiful 3D terrain, maps that worked on the hill, and authored guidebooks for the world's great ski areas — all at a price a normal skier would pay. Since the shutdown, 3D winter maps live behind premium subscriptions, and the FATMAP-replacement apps (onX Backcountry, Outmap, Whympr and friends) are built around touring, avalanche terrain and route planning. Great tools — for the skin track, not for your week in the Alps.
Nobody rebuilt the resort experience: every run and lift of the mountain you actually booked, offline in your pocket, with the character of the place explained before first chair. That's the corner of the FATMAP legacy Bonvo takes seriously.

A resort download can include 3D map geometry and available run, lift and point-of-interest data. The shared 2026-07-13 snapshot contains 1,414 resorts; coverage and detail vary by resort.
The guidebook layer, reborn
25 resorts currently have authored stories, while available slope pages can show measured length, vertical and gradient information from mapped data.
Your crew on the actual resort map
Optional group positions appear on the resort map while connectivity is available. Without a connection, no live update is possible; the last synchronized position may remain visible with its sync time.
A price that respects skiers
Bonvo Ski is free to download. Some advanced and offline features may require Bonvo Ski Premium. Availability can vary by platform, release and region. The single paid plan is called Bonvo Ski Premium.
